July 26, 2008 - Charlotte, North Carolina, “From Ulster to the Carolinas: Finding Your Scots-Irish Ancestors” sponsored by the North Carolina Genealogical Society & the Olde Mecklenburg Genealogical Society will be presented in Charlotte. David E. Rencher, AG, CG, FIGRS, FUGA, Director of the Records and Information Division of the Family and Church History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City will provide sessions on “Irish Jurisdictions and Reference Works”, “Irish Immigration – the Sources in Ireland”, “The Scots-Irish in North Carolina” and “Irish Church Records: Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and Catholic”. August 6 and 20, 2008 - Massachusetts Archives genealogy workshop for beginning genealogists or those looking to learn more about how to use the Archives' records for genealogy research. August 17-22, 2008 - 28th International Conference on Jewish Genealogy at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile This annual conference is the premier event for Jewish Genealogists.
