Annual Benefit Gala Dinner 2008 NEHGS celebrated its Annual Benefit Dinner on April 27, 2008 to support its “Bringing Your Heritage Home" Campaign.
Over 185 guests attended the reception and dinner at the Algonquin Club on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. The evening’s theme was "Re-examining History: Using Genealogy to Understand Our Past," with Cornell University professor, historian, Mary Beth Norton, as the guest speaker. Ms. Norton is also an award-winning author whose most recent book is the bestseller, In the Devil's Snare: The Salem Witchcraft Crisis of 1692.
Bringing Your Heritage Home, April 22, 2007 On April 22, 2007, NEHGS hosted its first annual fundraising gala to benefit the “Bringing your Heritage Home” campaign. Held at the venerable Algonquin Club in Boston’s Back Bay, the event included guest speaker acclaimed historian and Brandeis professor David Hackett Fischer, who won the Pulitzer-Prize in 2005 for his book, “Washington’s Crossing.”
