Quebec Research Tour June 15—22, 2008, twenty-four NEHGS members and four staff took part in the Society’s inaugural research tour to Montreal, Quebec. Throughout the week, members enjoyed guided research at two of Montreal’s top repositories, the Société Généalogique Canadienne-Française (SGCF) and the Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec (BAnQ). In addition to NEHGS genealogists Pauline Cusson and Michael Leclerc, both repositories offered bilingual staff and volunteers to assist members with research and record translation. To help provide historical and cultural context for researching in Quebec, members and staff took a mid-week field trip to Drummondville, Quebec to visit the Village Québécois d'Antan, a living history site comprised of seventy structures highlighting the period of 1810-1910.
